Dr Rodney Aziz
Founder & CEO, Family Doctor
For more than 15 years I’ve worked to prove one idea: that general practice can grow to national scale and stay in doctors’ hands. Family Doctor is now 112+ clinics across Australia — still 100% doctor-owned.

Founded 2008 · 112+ practices · 1,000+ doctors · 6 states & territories · 100% doctor-owned
The thesis
Most growing GP networks eventually sell control to corporate or institutional investors. Family Doctor took a different path. When global investment firm KKR backed us with a A$300 million facility in 2025, it was structured as financing, not ownership — so the network remains entirely doctor-owned, with no external shareholders and no board. I believe that’s how primary care should scale: clinically led, locally run, and accountable to patients rather than shareholders.
